Turquoise Beach Homes

Harbour Island Real Estate

HGChristie

What an appropriate way to start off this holiday weekend! This post was entirely too much fun to do. I apologize to those I had plans with last night...I seriously had no idea how much fun beach real estate listings were. Wouldn't it be a total dream to live in one of these homes? Even just to vacation at one? Heck, anyone simply want to invite me over for dinner? Might be an expensive dinner, considering I live in Minnesota and everything...! Why do I live here again?! ;) Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend my turquoise-loving friends!

Richard Smith

After spotting this room on Delight by Design, I had to find out more about the slipcovers on the chairs. They're perfect! Traditional Home had an article about the charming English farmhouse belonging Richard Smith. Not surprisingly, he's a textile designer, and his home is filled with his amazing designs. These teal linen slipcovers are "Fretwork" #2066 from the Orientaliste Collection. I also love the bright pop of color from the Le Creuset casserole in the back...one of these days I'm going to start my collection of their Caribbean cookware. What do you guys think of that Moroccan lantern?? See more of his countryside home here!

The Magic Brush

One of my favorite places to visit in the blogosphere is The Magic Brush, Inc. where the incredibly talented (and always hilarious) Jennifer showcases her gift for faux finishing. She's a true genius with a paint brush. Case in point: this gorgeous turquoise island. Both Jennifer and Kierra (the owner) say it's even more beautiful in person. Seriously?! I am really digging that wallcolor too, I'm obsessed with reddish orange right now. Like me, Jennifer loves turquoise and uses it for a lot of projects...her studio is even painted one of my favorite colors, Waterfall by Benjamin Moore. To see more of this island, and all of her other amazing projects, head here!

Martensen Jones Interiors

Ooh la la! My eyes were in for a real treat when I discovered this fun bedroom designed by Martensen Jones Interiors on MadeByGirl. I know this is a room the little girl is easily going to grow into. Love that white backdrop, the fresh green and blue color palette, all the fab furnishings and fabric! Seriously, how many lucky ducklings have a Hermes throw at the foot of their bed?!

Urban Grace Interiors

I've been following the blog belonging to Erika of Urban Grace Interiors for a long time, but never did it occur to me to check out her portfolio. Oh the goodies I found! Did you recognize that kitchen with the lovely blue island from the March issue of Coastal Living? I love how she used blue cabinet knobs too. (You can see more of that Coastal Living feature here on her blog.) And I just can't get enough of that room in the first and last image! That floor is TDF, and I love the fans and light fixtures. I imagine a ton of fun goes down in that space! And with that, I hope you all have a ton of fun this weekend! ;)

Seaside Getaway

After seeing this living room on Inspiration for Decoration, I headed over to ILEX Construction to learn more about the amazing seaside getaway. I immediately thought Brooke Steuart after I saw that 2nd image. Remember the stairway in her beach home? Turns out she's the one that designed this home too. The tile on that fireplace is breathtaking...makes me want to go for a dip! I'm really digging the whitewashed hardwood floors too. So pretty!

DIY Turquoise Headboard

I am in love this DIY headboard belonging to Rebecca Domin and Chris Musina of Toronto. Their home was declared a winner with "Best Use of Colour" in Canadian House and Home's 2010 design contest. The turquoise sure does stand out against the rest of the minimalist decor! Isn't that Designers Guild fabric is so yummy?!

Beloved Rainwashed

Thank you SO MUCH everyone for your great comments yesterday with all your favorite turquoise paint! I'm so excited to have all of your recommendations. I appreciate it, as does everyone else! If you ever think of any more, feel free to comment again!

With that being said, I'm sure many of you will love these two rooms from Studioten25's Blog painted "Rainwashed" by Sherwin Williams, a color that so many of you adore. I can see why...it's truly a beautiful color! And how about that super-cute colorful dog artwork on the walls from my favorite SugarBoo Designs! Love that too! I'm constantly asked what my go-to paint colors are, and it's so hard to say because I actually have no experience painting...the definite disadvantage to renting! It's beyond me why I didn't think to do this sooner, as in YEARS ago, but better late than never. I need your help! In the comments, I'd love it if you could share your favorite turquoise-ish paint colors. Bonus points if you link to images either from your home, or anywhere else you've seen it used!

My loyal reader Mustang got us started:
  • True Turquoise by Glidden
  • Cool Aqua and Poolside Blue by Benjamin Moore
  • Aqua Chiffon by Olympic Paint
  • Nifty Turquoise by Sherwin Williams
  • Beach Sparkle by Valspar
If you don't have a personal favorite, tell me which paint color from the pictures above you like best!

Thanks you guys, I can't wait to hear what you have to say...this is going to be awesome! :)
